My objective was to alert a user when he or she makes a selection(s) (and/or non-selection) from a multiple drop-down select box where the choices are inputted into an array, as well as for a multiple list selection box where the choices are also placed into an array.
I wanted to validate their selection to alert them if they forgot to select one of the values, or if they selected the "Other" choice from the select list but forgot to type the "Other" value in the provided text input field.
The first example shows how to validate a checkbox if nothing is checked.
This is similar to radiobutton example explained above.
In Javascript we create a function which checks if some value is entered in the textbox or selected in the case of combobox, radiobutton, checkbox.
ok now i want to validate that if the drop box has a value other than blank, i want to check its corresponding quantity, if the quantity is blank then I want it to say 'please enter a quantity on Item -" here is the drop down boxes with the quantitys But if you also want to verify that it is a number and not any other character.

I am pretty new to programming in OOP, I understand linear programming fine, but java adn javascript has so much built in stuff, and it is not very english like, I can follow logic and understand it and even tweak it, but I am not familar enough w/ the syntax and OOP to make up my own yet.
For the explanation purpose I have a select list which contains city list along with select city as items.
